Superbrain 977
Well I got my superbrain 977 two days ago and I love it. I was very pleased with the packaging(except when they spelled discharg wrong.) Apart from that, its a very good charger. I recommend it to anyone that has $90 that they can spend.
Here you go.

You can charge 2 2S lipos on the 977. It is limited to 2.5 amps per channel when charging them though.

My 977 can do 3 amps each side on lipo, that's a c/2 rate

i quote from the MRC site "A special, practically “foolproof” setting for 1-3 cell lithium ion /polymer batteries makes it safe & easy to put maximum energy back into your packs" it also states to charge no higher then 1C

I think that is per channel. I have been charging my maxamps 7.4v lipos for several months now. I know it won't go over 2.5amps per channel.

It charges lipos great. My only complaint is the 2.5A limit when charging a 2S lipo. My packs are 4000mah and it takes awhile. I couldn't imagine charging 8000 or 9000 lipos on it.

Just make sure you always check the cell count--- don't assume it's correct.

Yes, it does 3 amps on a 2S or 3S. I doubt it would charge a single at 3 amps though. I have another 977 on the way and I'll make sure it does 3 amps. I did have an early one that would only go to 2.5 , but my later ones do 3 amps.

Hey all,
Can the 977 deliver 5A per output simultaneously for NiCd/NiMH?
I need to charge Qty 2 - 6C 4200maH batteries together.
Thanks,

Yes, it can. It gets a touch warm, but should be able to do it for at least 1 set, a small break and then another set. It may even do it back to back sets of 6 cell batts at 5 amps each. That works out to about 100 watts and I frequently use my 969 at 150 watts , but don't charge the higher capacity that you have. I charge for only 30-40 minutes with no problem. You should be taking maybe 50 minutes or less.

I have the Dynamite Twin Peak charger, and I run with GP 4300 battery packs.
I'm wondering, if I used the Superbrain 977, would I get more power from my batteries? Or, is the difference is charging time? Would it be worth it to change?
